Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy, is accidentally left behind when his family goes on Christmas vacation. As Kevin revels in the initial freedom of having the house to himself, he soon discovers that he must defend his home from two bumbling burglars, Harry and Marv, who plan to rob the neighborhood during the holiday season.
